The Story
After 16 years of working in varying aspects of the HVAC trade from home heating & cooling to hospitals, University campuses to submarine bases and everything in between Bill decided to focus on what he loves the most, taking care of your residential or commercial building’s heating & cooling needs.
Since becoming licensed by the California State Contractors board in 2010 we have been absolutely loving being able to provide you with the best service, repair & replacement of heating & cooling equipment at fair prices. We like to think of it as a “Win Win” situation.
The Philosophy
We treat our customers like family, and we like our family!....But seriously speaking it is our goal to treat every customer or potential customer the way we like to be treated. Honest, fair and compassionately. It is important that you feel like you are a priority, and you are.

Meet Our Team!
Bill Kutz
Founder & Co-Owner
Bill is the boss. He has surrounded himself with a team of well-qualified installers and technicians and office staff to do the real work of what we do. A Santa Rosa native too, he Graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1981 with a strong background in automotive mechanics. He went on to get his HVAC training as a Sheet Metal workers apprentice through local 104. With 30 years’ experience as an HVAC mechanic, you can bet he knows a thing or two.
Bill comes from a family of contractors and knows first hand that if you provide a great service at a reasonable cost and show up when you say you will, you’ll always have work. That has definitely proved true in our case, and he learned that from Bill Kutz Sr. and now has passed that onto his oldest son, and business partner Tyler Kutz.
Tyler Kutz
General Manager & Co-Owner
Tyler was Born and raised here in Santa Rosa, before spending 12 years in San Luis Obispo where he attended Cal Poly & received his undergraduate and graduate education. He then worked in precision manufacturing in the automotive aftermarket before relocating back home at the very beginning of Covid. Tyler wears many different hats in a days time which span from behind the scenes management, inventory control, writing detailed job proposals, as well as all the daily objective of keeping our crew busy and on task. Tyler is very detail oriented, and he sleeps much better knowing a job has been properly planned ahead of arriving on the jobsite. We hope his efforts translate to a high end customer experience for all of our clients! Tyler spends his free time with his wife Diana, and his dog Pearl. They spend lots of time camping or exploring outdoors, and cherish time with family including 9 nieces and nephews.
Tera Oberlin
Office Manager
Tera was born and raised here in the beautiful wine country!
She wears many different hats in our small family business including being in charge of the schedule, Dispatching, service coordination and “all things admin.” Tera was approached to join our team in 2020 just weeks before the Covid shut down hit. “There was a moment of uncertainty for all of us, but I quickly realized how fortunate I was to be a part of this business. Our Team was able to continue serving this community when many others closed and were unable to re-open their doors.“ We are very thankful to have her on our management team!
Candy Racuya
Formerly Candy Kutz (Bill’s Aunt!)
Candy is our bookkeeper, and handles all of our accounts payable and receivables. She’s spent most of her work life taking care of small business books as well as an assortment of office management tasks. She is one of the two voices on the phone when you call in so you may have already talked with her. She’s another Santa Rosa native and brings a wonderful sense of “family” to our business. Candy and her hubby spend LOTS of time camping in their RV with Pele the Cocker Spaniel. Pele is our office mascot too! If you come by the office, be sure to give her a pat on the head.
Tyler Lozette-Deming
Installation Team Leader
Tyler is also a Sonoma county native. He is another top notch HVAC mechanic. He serves us as an installation lead technician.
Tyler has been working in the HVAC industry since he graduated from high school about 7 years ago.
He loves anything mechanical and is a big sports nut too! He fills his off time with family activities and tries to be outdoors as much as possible.
Tyler is a great guy and is a very responsible young man. We see great things in his future and are very happy to have him on our team.
Cody Rosado
Installation Team leader
Cody is a Santa Rosa native that has been working in the HVAC trade for 9 years. The first half of his career he worked in the family business installing furnaces and air conditioners with his brother for their stepdad. The last half he’s been with the Kutz team and works as a Team Leader doing installations of furnaces, air conditioners, ducting systems, ductless heat pump systems and ducted heat pump systems.
Cody is a top notch installer (AKA a perfectionist!) and has a keen eye for detail. His expertise and the care he takes on his installations is one reason we have such a great reputation as a high quality contractor in Sonoma County.
He’s a family man with a wife and young son. He balances his work/personal life by spending lots of time with his family on evenings and weekends. He is also a big fan of motor sports, like driving his drift car on the track at organized race events.
Isaac Wendt
Installation Apprentice
Isaac is a local boy from Geyserville and has been an apprentice for the past 3+ years with the Kutz team.
Before he came to us, he worked for 2 years in the industrial steel fabrication business.
He’s gained lots of knowledge and expertise at installations of everything we do: From furnaces to AC and heat pumps to ducting systems as well as more technical controls and air filtration systems.
He is a natural mechanic and loves working on his vehicles and his friend’s vehicles.
Isaac has been a nearly lifelong friend of Bill’s (Bill became friends with Isaac’s family when he was about 6 years old!) and he’s more like family than an employee. We call him Mr. Personality. When you meet him you’ll soon see why
Jonathan Lugger
Installation Apprentice
Jon has been in the trade for 4 years as an apprentice installer. He’s been with the Kutz team for just under a year and fits in great with our guys. He is from Sonoma and that’s where he still lives.
He likes to spend his spare time with his dog “Jax” and working on cars. Our customers love Jon’s big smile and personable nature.
Do you see a common thread with our team of installers? They are all mechanics! Did you know that’s how Bill got his start too? Bill worked on cars as a mechanic in Santa Rosa right out of high school.
Robert Daniel
Service Technician
Robert is our #1 Service technician. With his lengthy background in the HVAC trade he has done it all from residential HVAC installations, sheet metal work, air duct design and installation, as well as service and maintenance.
His days are filled making repair calls and keeping those old systems up and running.
Robert is a great family man. His wife and 2 young children keep his weekends & nights busy, and you can tell that that is what he loves in life. We appreciate his attention to detail, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
No one is more thorough when diagnosing your HVAC system’s issues than Robert! When you meet Robert you’ll see what we love about him too.
